Reflection

Salam...

Preparing for my research proposal taught me many things. I regret some of the things I've done during the process of finishing my proposal. So many things happened along the way. Some helped me in the process, some had let me down. I am thankful to Allah for giving me the courage to finish the task. I was very close to give up.

I can't remember how I did my Academic exercise before. I only remember I had to send chapter by chapter to my supervisor. This experience is different from what I have now. I think I needed some push maybe :)

Despite having to struggle to finish my proposal, I did learn many things from doing this task. By looking at the proposal I can imagine how I should do my research later. I had problems in gathering my info for literature review but I think after this I know how to find more good info. I learned about it a little too late for my proposal.  I don't think I did good in this task. The more I look at my proposal the more I think I want to redo everything. I am totally not satisfied with my work. However the time is ticking and I am now already late. :((

 I am so sorry to you Dr for sending my proposal late. I know anything I said would just be excuses. I learned my mistake. I hope this will not happen again. Tq so much for your guidance Dr Aziah.

Chapter 3

Okay now back to work. I am totally late already. Worried so much...
So....This was how I did my Chapter 3. I'll add more to this later..

3.0  Introduction

 

3.1  Research Design

A quantitative method is to be implemented in this study.
 

3.2  Population and sample

The population of the study is the students of KPM Ayer Molek, Melaka. The population consisted of the Preparatory Intensive Programme students. The samples were selected based on purposive sampling technique. The respondents are all from Preparatory Intensive Programme in KPM Ayer Molek, Melaka.

 

3.3  Instrumentation

3.3.1 Test

                       The pre-test and post-test are to be administered to the respondents to indicate the progress of the target group.

i.                    Pre-test
ii.                  Post-test

3.3.1 Questionnaire

                                                            Respondents will be given questionnaire to be completed in order to gain students’ perceptions towards using drama as teaching technique in teaching speaking. This questionnaire will be given after the post-test to check on their perceptions towards the use of drama technique in English class.



3.4 Conclusion

This chapter has covered the research design, the sample of population, and instrumentation used to collect the data.

A mess!

I'm here in Kuching. My parents just moved in to their new house quite a distance from our old house. The day I came I slept in our old house where there's no more mattress left so I had a very uncomfortable sleep. I was determined to sleep in the new house the next day. Unfortunately, here we don't have the wifi yet so I had to rely on my broadband to access the internet. It was tough.

Oh I forgot to mention I went back to Kuching to attend my sister's wedding. Juggling assignment and preparation for the wedding is not easy for me.. I feel like crying at times because there are so many assignments to be submitted before and after the wedding. Now I realized that I am not  good in  multitasking.  I'm hoping I can finish all of those on time.. InsyaAllah.

Chapter 2

Salam..

In my Chapter 2, I included some of the teaching methods that I have learned during my last subject which was TSL751. I hope it is relevant to  my topic.

Doing chapter 2 was quite a daunting task for me. Finding good article to suit my literature review was quite challenging. In my literature review I wrote the following as my subheadings:

iii. advantages

I'm not sure if these are enough and strong for my literature review. I wished I could do more. :(

Chapter 1

Salam...

I find doing Chapter 1 is quite difficult as I think at first I wasn't sure of my topic. So when I did my chapter 1 I was thinking of changing my topic all over again. however as I read through many articles and journal, I think my topic is doable.

In Chapter 1, I have already included the reason why I chose my topic which was under the background of study and the problem statement.

I wasn't sure on my limitation as I only can find 1 at present. may be I will add more as I go with my research later.

My profile

Hi..

When I started my blog, I didn't know I had to write a little bit about my profile. So, I'm going to write on it today...:)

My name is Fauziah Binti Hj Amin. I was born in Kuching, Sarawak on 7 March. I graduated from UiTM Shah Alam Section 17 in 2008 in Bachelor Degree in TESL. I started to work with Mara in January 2009. I was posted to IKM Johor Bahru and worked there for 3 years. Then, I was transferred to KPM Ayer Molek Melaka on July, 2011 which is where I work now. In IKM JB I taught certificates students and in KPM AM I am teaching the Diploma students. I've watched myself grow in terms of teaching but I think there are still more to learn. I hope by doing this master's programme I will become a better teacher.. Insha'Allah.

My Second Subject

It has been a long time since I last posted something on my blog. I've been busy all this while. Juggling between work and study. Now I understand how hard it is studying while working but never mind, I think I can survive this.. Insha'Allah. Today I want to talk a little bit about my second subject which was held  last October- Education and Human Development. We had our individual and group presentation for this subject. I was so 'lucky' that I was selected to be the second presenter for individual presentation. I did okay I think despite all the nervousness. This subject taught me to think on the subject critically, and see things from different angles.  This is what I should do for my research where I need to see my research from different angles.
 
Besides the presentations, we also need to complete our individual and group assignments which are Term Paper( individual) and Case Study (group work). These 2 assignments really challenge me where I need to do literature review. however it does help me in preparing my research proposal. I can tell that I would have to work very hard to do my research proposal. I hope I do well. :'( Insha'Allah

Summarizing was not THAT difficult, however, to choose what to summarize was my problem during completing my first assigned task. Finding the right articles was also one of my biggest challenge in that task. During completing the 1st task, our college's internet was facing a network breakdown. This was one of the challenges that I had to face other than not having good internet reception at home, in Merlimau. I had to bring back my assignment to my hometown in Kuching. I was able to finish one article while I was at airport waiting for my flight. Alhamdulillah,  the assigned task was able to be completed and submitted  before the due date. I have learned few good lessons from this experience and one of it is, you need to know a good key word to find a good article that you want. :) Therefore, I hope in next task, I will not have to face the same difficulty again.. Amin.. Assalamualaikum...
 

New Journey, New Life..

I'm sorry for taking too much time in creating my blog.I was too busy managing my classes( at KPMAM), I forgot that I have to create my e-portfolio. I'm so sorry Dr! but tadaaa..this is mine..  I hope I can make use of this space to tell you about my journey in M.Ed.

So far we have attended 2 classes, the first one is EDU702: Research Methodology and the second, EDU 701: Education and Human Development. I've managed to do summary for 1st assignment given by Dr. Teoh. however, I'm not sure if I was doing the right thing. I hope I manage to retrace all my sources as I've save it all on my desktop.. without the URL link.. : | I am still struggling on my literature review as I couldn't find many articles related to my topic. During EDU701, we were instructed to do individual Term Paper and Dr. Burn had adjusted my title a little bit. I hope I can manage to find all the things that I have in mind. Insya-Allah.. I hope and I believe my friends and I can graduate on time. All we have to do is work hard and study hard..May Allah ease my journey in this M.Ed. Amiiin...
